Roof Completed on Beautiful Home, Santa Clara, CA, Case Story
This old composition roof was replaced with a CertainTeed Landmark Premium roof, color Max Def Moire Black. The low slope area was replaced with FiberTite KEE roofing.

- Existing low slope, standing-seam metal roof had rigid board insulation installed on top with new single-ply FiberTite Kee on top of insulation/R-19. Eave above had to be taken apart for access.

- Existing Gable end vent was blocked from inside the attic to balance the attic ventilation and prevent “hot spots” in the roof which would prematurely damage the shingles.

- Low slope at front porch was below 4/12 pitch and therefore required additional underlayment. CertainTeed High Performance MetaLayment was used which has a 50 year manufacturer’s warranty.

- Original Skylights removed and re-installed. Intake ventilation for the attic was corrected and an electric attic fan, thermostatically controlled, was installed for attic-exhaust ventilation.
